Results of the “Learn, Play, Practice” Training-Simulation Exercises
“In numbers”
- Geographical coverage: 4 consolidated communities, 35 settlements
- Number of kindergartens involved: 42
- Number of training - simulation exercises conducted: 42
- Participants in briefings on regional hazards (risk reduction and response): 588 staff members
- Participants in watching educational videos on hazards and playing educational games with children: 1,364 participants
- Participants in the practical drills: 2,406 children and 706 staff members
- Total number of participants involved in the process: 3,112
These figures summarize the outcomes of the “Learn, Play, Practice” training - simulation exercises, implemented within the framework of the project “Strengthening Community Resilience and Disaster Preparedness for Displaced Populations in Armenia”. The activities were carried out through the joint efforts of the “Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform” Foundation (ARNAP) and World Vision Armenia.
As a result, we have:
- Kindergartens that are one step more prepared for emergencies.
- A tested play-based model for teaching children about safety and risks.
- An engaging combination of theoretical and practical learning.
- Lessons learned that will serve as a foundation for future initiatives.
The project is funded by the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Service (ECHO) and implemented through the joint efforts of UNHCR, World Vision Armenia, RA MIA Rescue Service, the ARNAP Foundation, HEKS EPER, the Armenian Association of Social Workers, and partner communities.
