Disaster and climate risk assessment is being digitized and automated

On December 22, within the framework of the “Climate Resilience: Empowering Youth and Communities in Armenia for a Batter Future” project, implemented with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency, UNICEF in cooperation with the Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform (ARNAP) Foundation presented the “Digitization and Automation of the Local-Level Risk Management (LLRM) Process” initiative to partners from both the public and non-governmental sectors.

The initiative aims to facilitate data collection and analysis through the digitization and automation of the LLRM process, and to support decision-makers in the development and implementation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) measures.

The experts responsible for the process presented the key features of the proposed digitization and automation of the LLRM process, including the initial concept and the roadmap.

A discussion was held with partners, who shared their views and raised a number of questions and issues that should be addressed prior to the start of the digitization and automation process. They also provided a range of suggestions.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to establish a thematic working group on the digitization and automation of the LLRM process, which will support the lead experts in bringing the initiative to its logical completion.
